The Flag for the Fallen was designed by Officers for the families of Officers. After the tragic death of one our Nation’s Law Enforcement Officers, the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) extends our deepest sympathy to the family of the fallen Officer. In order to show our appreciation for their service NAPO presents the family with a Flag for the Fallen.

The flag displays the fallen Officer’s name, badge number, end of watch date, and his/her department or agency. Families of all law enforcement officers lost in the line of duty from any law enforcement agency in the United States are eligible to receive a flag.  There is no cost for the flag.

Once NAPO learns of and confirms the line of duty loss of an Officer, NAPO ensures that a flag is made and sent to the Officer’s family, accompanied by a letter from the President of NAPO.  Additional flags may be purchased at NAPO’s actual cost.
