Lieutenant Craig D. Lally

Lt. Lally is starting his 40th year with the Los Angeles Police Department. He is currently serving his 10th year as President of the Los Angeles Police Protective League. The Los Angeles Police Protective League represents more than 8,500 dedicated and professional sworn members of the Los Angeles Police Department. The League seeks to advance the interests of LAPD officers through legislative and legal advocacy, political action, and education.

As President, Lt. Lally works daily with the Los Angeles Police Department, community groups, and fellow officers to protect the rights, interests, and welfare of the members of the League. Lt. Lally was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and joined the Los Angeles Police Department on March 31, 1981. He worked various patrol assignments for over 25 years as a Police Officer (in the elite Metropolitan Division), Sergeant, and Lieutenant. He has received approximately 200 commendations throughout his career, both from the Department and the community.

Lally was elected as a Director to the Los Angeles Police Protective League on January 1, 2012, and elected President on January 1, 2015. He currently serves on additional Executive Boards, including the Board of Directors of the Valley Industry and Commerce Association, the Executive Board of the California Coalition of Law Enforcement Associations, the Board of the Los Angeles Police Museum, and the Board of Directors of the California Police Officers Memorial Foundation.
