Scott Leeton

Scott Leeton is a Police Officer with the Corpus Christi Police Department. He joined the Corpus Christi Police Department in 1985.
Scott has spent most of his career in the Traffic Safety Division. In the Traffic Division, he specialized in accident reconstruction and later became a Child Passenger Safety Instructor. While in the Traffic Safety Division, Scott attended the Texas Department of Public Safety Academy where he received specialized training in Accident Reconstruction, Pedestrian Accident Reconstruction and Advanced Accident Reconstruction.
In 2013 Scott became President of the Corpus Christi Police Officers’ Association and served in that capacity until January of 2026. During his term as President, the Association raised over $150,000 to purchase 425 Level IV plate carriers that were donated to the Corpus Christi Police Department and subsequently issued to each police officer.
As President of CCPOA, Scott worked closely with the City Council and the City Manager to grow the manpower of the Corpus Christi Police Department from 424 in 2013 to the currently budgeted strength of 505.
Scott served as a Vice President of CLEAT (Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas) for about 6 years, and now serves as state-wide President of CLEAT, while still an active-duty officer with Corpus Christi.
For the last 6 years Scott has also have served as the Vice-Chairman of the Crime Control and Prevention Board.
July of 2021 Scott was appointed to the NAPO (National Association of Police Organizations) Executive Board to serve as the Executive Secretary.
Scott has also served as the CLEAT representative to the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) for the last 6 years. Scott is a graduate of Del Mar College with a degree in Police Science.
