Our goal for the Pension & Benefits Seminar is to educate pension and union representatives along with their providers on the latest issues surrounding the pension and benefits industry.
NAPO’s Annual Pension & Benefits Seminar educates pension and union representatives, vendors and professional service providers on the most significant issues surrounding the pension and benefits industry.
Our 2025 seminar will focus on the 2024 general election results, and the most likely changes in the new Administration, the Fed, and the marketplace: Artificial Intelligence and its impact on pension & benefits plans, and investing, and concomitant regulatory concerns. Our mounting national debt and various “bubbles” remain areas of concern to plan trustees and participants alike. Meanwhile, the debate over socially conscious investing and the proper weight, if any, that plans can or ought to assign to DEI factors goes on.
Renewed calls for global taxation and control of corporate governance will be discussed, as well as shareholder activism and proxy fights. Trustees and plan managers will want to hear about liability pitfalls and practical advice for fiduciaries. Finally, we will look at political updates and the small but growing calls for a return to traditional DB pensions for the general public.
