NAPO Washington Reports

Please Help Fund the Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program in 2014!

April 3, 2013

Congress recently began work on its Fiscal Year 2014 Justice Appropriations bills. As this process kicks off, Congress will prioritize programs with widespread support, and it's important that they be reminded of the critical need for continued funding of the Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program (JMHCP). This is a bill which NAPO supports, and which can help law enforcement across the United States in its responsibilities in assisting those, and dealing with, citizens with mental health issues.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP

Contact your Members of Congress today and urge them to support the Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program by signing onto Senator Al Franken (D-MN) and Congressman Bobby Scott's (D-VA) "Dear Colleague" letters in support of FY14 appropriations for Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program!

The deadline to sign onto the House letter is April 8th (and the Senate letter a few weeks later) so it's important that you contact your member of Congress as soon as possible.
