Washington, D.C. – Today, the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) announced its second round of 1998 campaign endorsements.  NAPO is a coalition of police unions and associations from across the United States that serves in Washington, DC to advance the interests of America’s law enforcement officers through legislative and legal advocacy, political action and education.  Founded in 1978, NAPO now represents 4,000 police organizations and more than 220,000 sworn law enforcement officers.

“NAPO has decided to endorse these candidates today, because we believe that these individuals will support law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line protecting the public,” said Robert T. Scully, NAPO executive director.  “We looked for candidates who we believe will work to enforce or pass legislation that will guarantee basic police officer rights, give police officers the resources needed to do their jobs, reduce crime and protect public safety,” continued Scully.
