NAPO ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR 2000 LEGAL RIGHTS AND LEGISLATIVE SEMINAR

EDUCATING LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS NATIONWIDE ON THEIR LEGAL RIGHTS AND LEGISLATIVE ISSUES
Washington, DC - Today, the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) announced plans for its 2000 Legal Rights and Legislative Seminar to be held at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, May 10-12, 2000. Annually, NAPO hosts this important seminar to educate law enforcement officers nationwide about their legal rights and current legislative issues. Hundreds of distinguished police, labor and constitutional attorneys, union negotiators and government officials participate each year. Attendees will also be visiting their respective congressional delegations on Capitol Hill on Thursday, May 11th. That evening, an awards cocktail reception will be held to honor NAPO's Senators and Representatives of the Year. A listing of seminar topics to be covered is listed below.

The National Association of Police Organizations, a proud supporter of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF), encourages attendees to lengthen their stay in Washington, DC to attend the Memorial's 12th Annual Candlelight Vigil honoring those officers killed in the line of duty. The Vigil will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2000 at 8:00 p.m. at the Memorial grounds, located at Judiciary Square, on the 400 block of E Street, NW, Washington, DC. A reading of the names newly engraved on the Memorial immediately follows the ceremony. Everyone is welcome to attend; no tickets are required.
