in setting NAPO’s legislative priorities for the 113th
Congress and learn from presentations by prominent law enforcement
figures about the latest developments in police politics and
services.
When not attending NAPO business sessions, Nashville, Music
City-USA, offers something for everyone. Explore Nashville’s
Southern history and charm, discover local art and museums,
tour the beautiful Vanderbilt Campus or shop at the upscale
Mall at Green Hills. Need to relax? Enjoy an afternoon at the
Maxwell House outdoor pool and NAPO hospitality patio. And no
trip to Music City-USA is complete without seeing the Tuesday
night show at the Grand Ole Opry.
NAPO
has reserved a block of rooms at The Millennium Maxwell House
Hotel for registered NAPO convention attendees. Room rates are

Golf
NAPO’s
golf outing will take place Sunday, July 21 at Hermitage Golf
Club on the President’s Reserve Course. The Hermitage
Golf Club is located just 20 minutes from the hotel and was
listed as one of “America’s Top Golf Courses”
by ESPN. The President’s Reserve Course, designed by Denis
Griffiths, is like a stroll through nature covering 300 acres
of natural wetlands along the banks of the Cumberland River.
Playing up to 7200 yards the course offers golfers of any skill
level as much challenge as one might desire. The tournament
cost includes green fees, cart, range balls and a barbeque lunch.
If you would like to play with a specific foursome, please fax
your request to the NAPO office no later than July 1.
Special
Events
NAPO
has arranged a unique afternoon at the Country Music Hall of
Fame and Museum on Sunday, July 21. Enjoy a private concert
with one of Nashville’s hit making songwriters. Discover
the stories behind the music you love and hear the hits as they
were originally written. The concert ends with a meet and greet
with the performer. In addition to the concert, spend time browsing
the three floor museum, featuring a vast collection of items
that illustrate country music’s story as told through
the turn of two centuries. Be sure to see the new Carrie Underwood
exhibit! Tickets to this event will be sold for $45.00 per person
and must be purchased when registering for the convention.
On
Monday, July 22, NAPO will host a night out at the historic
Silver Dollar Saloon. The Saloon, located on Second Avenue,
is in the heart of Nashville’s Honky-Tonks. Enjoy great
southern food, open bar and live country music. Don’t
know how to two step, no problem dance instructors will be on
hand to teach the country western line dances. Be sure to stop
by the moonshine tasting bar on the second floor before you
go!
